Desktop Support Specialist

Zymphony Technology Solutions is a full-service Technology Product and Services Company located in the Westshore business district of Tampa, Florida.
We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Specialist for our Tampa location.

Position Description:
The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for acting as first tier technical support handling both customer and IMS generated issues. This position will be a member of a team of Desktop Specialists that will be the initial contact point for Zymphony call-in customers and will perform initial analysis and troubleshooting to rectify problems as well as escalate problems as directed.
Our solution set includes a full-range of IT products and services, from IT Strategy to computer repair and maintenance for businesses in the Southwest Florida area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Act as the initial contact for customer initiated issues.
2. Handle customer initiated issues.
3. Handle IMS generated issues.
4. Perform bench-level hardware troubleshooting and repair as needed.
5. Perform preventative maintenance on IMS customers' networks and systems.
6. Maintain acceptable patch levels on assigned networks.
7. Document and prepare higher level issues for level 2 and level 3 engineers.
8. Provide on-site technical support as needed.
9. Provide functionality testing on new patch releases as needed.

Requirements:
• Intermediate knowledge of desktop operating systems (Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X)
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Beginning/Intermediate knowledge of networked workstation and server configurations
• Beginning/intermediate knowledge of network devices (routers, firewalls, switches)
• Excellent communications/customer relationship skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• 1 to 3 years of desktop experience
• Help Desk/MSP experience a plus
• 1 -3 years server experience a plus

Preferred Technical Certifications:
A+, Network +, Security+, MCSE, MCITP, MSCA, CCNA or equivalent a plus.
